Besides gardens, all castles in Japan also have somewhere some suits of armor for decoration --and not necessarily related to the feudal lords or samurai living in the castle. This one, for example, says it is from the mid-Edo period, i.e. somewhere in the 18th century and that its owner is unknown. At any rate, it is impressive --and this is how we understand that it is indeed from mid-Edo period or after: older armor was much less flashy.
