Not one of the 12 authentic (as it is today, it was rebuilt out of reinforced concrete in 1960) but part of Odawara's history since 1447 and related to the house of the Latter Hojo (Go Hojo Shi/後北条氏), it is the only castle in Kanagawa Prefecture and one of its symbols.
