In the north side, a torii gate indicating that this is the beginning of Komachi Dori (小町通り), a street leading to the great shrine Tsurugaoka Hachimangu.
And at the left of the torii, Peko-chan (ペコちゃん) and Poko-chan (ポコちゃん), the mascots of the confectionery chain, Fujiya, over one of the chain's shops.
