(1873) Like almost everywhere in Aizu...


...Kitakata has enough sake breweries. We visited Yamatogawa (大和川), founded in 1790 and continuing to make sake since then. The building both exterior and interior is somewhat keeping an atmosphere of bygone times...



...although the bottles certainly give out a more contemporary note. 



Like always, there is a bar to try some of their products after the tour (for the record they were very good)...



...and a fountain with water from the spring used for sake.



And of course the ubiquitous sakadaru sake casks.
