(430) Nebuta in Asakusa – 2


The first of the nebuta that visited us this past weekend was a golden (OK, yellow) dragon –the symbolism makes sense if you know that the official name of Sensoji is “Kinryu-zan” (金龍山), that is “Golden Dragon Mountain” (there is no mountain –it’s just that all Buddhist temples have the word “mountain” in their official names).
