Of Chinese origin, Shishi-mai (獅子舞) or Lion Dance is one of the most characteristic street performances of the season around New Year's. Like all things at this it's considered auspicious; in the end of the dance, the lion goes to the audience and "bites" people's heads for a more personal touch of good fortune.
