...they've been making pottery statuettes of tanuki since the early 20th century (we've discussed before what tanuki are -both me and Tom Robbins). Also in the same prefecture there is the Koga area which is considered one of the hometowns of ninja. So what could be more appropriate than a tanuki-ninja statuette?
