(1898) Clear messages, part 878

Yatsugatakemeibutsu. Which means "famous product from the Yatsugatake (八ヶ岳)" volcanic group area on the border of Nagano and Yamanashi Prefectures; why it should be written in enormous Latin characters and with the Japanese characters being considerably smaller is of course something that is left for future historians to decipher. For those wondering, it is the lid of an ekiben (駅弁), that is precooked meal sold at the station to be eaten in the train -the meal itself was a very tasty chicken katsu (チキンカツ), breaded chicken cutlet.
