Like all Japanese temples, Hozenji hosts a few more like bodhisattva Jihi Jinzoson (慈悲地蔵尊) or simply Jizo(地蔵) ...
...to whom you can offer a statuette like these --the statuette is also Jizo.
Here is a section dedicated to two buddhas (and a cat, of course):
On the left is the buddha Shaka (釈迦) or Shakyamuni, the historical Buddha...
...and on the left the buddha Amida (阿弥陀).
As for the cat, at some point it got bored with the buddhas and went to its natural place...
...that allows it to monitor the broader Dotonbori area.
