Being very old, Shitennoji doesn't belong to any of the known Buddhist sects --it has its own, called Wa-shu(和宗). Therefore, it can host sub-temples, dedicated to other sects and their founders like Kenshindo (見真堂) here which is worshipping the Buddha Amida Nyorai (阿弥陀如来) of Jodo Shinshu(浄土真宗) whose founder is Shinran Shonin (親鸞聖人, 1173-1263), the gentleman in the center.
