...because this is literally Dr. Dinosaur (Kyoryu Hakase/恐竜博士) who, at some station is advertising an event about Fukui (福井) and the shinkansen that go there. Fukui is Japan's dinosaur capital: about 80% of the country's dinosaur fossils come from that prefecture and its dinosaur museum in Katsuyama (勝山) is one of the biggest of its kind in the world. (In the glass case next to him is a piece of dinosaur dung that you can touch with your own hands --if this is something that you would want to do.)
