(466) The first meal of the year


Or, more accurately, of the first week of the year: it is called “o-sechi-ryori” (お節料理/おせち料理) and consists of fish and seafood (among other things) in square boxes, arranged in specific ways. Too stylized to make it at home –most people buy them from big department stores and restaurants.
