And in the budokan restrooms, slippers --they are very common in Japanese restrooms, even at private homes. In Japanese, martial arts are called "budo" (武道) hence the facility is called "budokan" (武道館) and the "bu" (武) part is the one that means "martial". And yes, it is the character on the slippers.
