Not very far from Shitennoji, another Osaka landmark: Tsutenkaku (通天閣) tower, constructed in 1956 and designed by Naito Tatsu (内藤多仲, 1886-1970) who also designed Tokyo Tower (東京タワー). Like Tokyo Tower, Tsutenkaku has a vintage air that echoes the time it was made; many think it's tacky but personally I like this atmosphere so I enjoyed being around it. As for its height, it's 337.9 ft but its observatory is at 298.5 ft.
