...is one of the biggest in Japan, not just in Miyagi. Here, just one part of it --and yes, the gentleman on the right is a Buddhist cleric exchanging money for prayers. (This is a traditional form of mendicancy called takuhatsu/托鉢 that goes back to the days of the historical Buddha in the 5th century BC.)
