The way he is all thin and stylish, it's hard to believe that Kuidaore Taro (くいだおれ太郎) who we had mentioned a while back is Dotonbori's mascot and his name means "the guy who eats until he collapses". He started as a mascot of a restaurant with that name ("Kuidaore") in the 1950s, the restaurant closed but he remained and ended up being one of Osaka's most characteristic, well, characters.
