Also Kamakura is one of the few places in Japan where there are still jinrikisha (人力車) aka rickshaw, the human-pulled carts that during the Meiji Period (1868-1912) were used as taxis --nowadays they used exclusively for tourism, weddings and, sometimes, by geisha, wherever they still exist (although not in Kamakura).
