Or "二天門" or the gate of the two "ten" (天) --"ten" means "heavenly" but it's also the ending of the names of the two Buddhist "deities" Zochoten (増長天) and Jikokuten (持國天) standing to its left and right and protecting Sensoji Temple from the east, the side of Sumida River. The gate has been there since 1649 and is one of the most beautiful spots in Asakusa --and one that many people don't notice.
