...there was three things in abundance: shops by merchants from Ise, shrines of the rice god Inari and dog excrement. The latter have completely disappeared and the shops have become huge department stores but the shrines to Inari are still around like here, Saiwai Inari Jinja (幸稲荷神社) in Ginza.
