...Chiko-chan (チコちゃん). I left her for last because she is a bigger name than all the others! She is a five year-old girl, half real and half CG hosting what is probably NHK network's most popular show for the last two years: it's titled "Chiko-chan ni shikarareru" (チコちゃんに叱られる!) which means "Get scolded by Chiko-chan" and is in essence an educational program where Chiko-chan asks her celebrity guests and her co-host, Takashi Okamura to answer seemingly simple questions like "why do we wave our hands when we say goodbye?" or "why we blow the candles on birthday cakes?" When they reply wrong, Chiko-chan gets angry and yells at them "Booto ikiten' ja ne yo!" (ボーっと生きてんじゃねーよ!) meaning "Don't sleep through life!" and then goes on to give them the answer which is further explained by some authority on the subject. Incredibly clever and charming series; I wish it caught on outside Japan too.
