(2802) Going to the source #2: The factory

Walking to the south of Gunma Yawata Station and reaching National Road 18 that starts from Takasaki and goes all the way to Niigata (新潟) on the shores of the Sea of Japan, you see from afar this complex that prepares you for something interesting. The red silhouette is the real Daruma (or Bodhidharma, the founder of the Zen school of Buddhism), on the left building there are Daruma doll eyes everywhere and the sign says "Daimonya, Daruma's hometown" (大門屋だるまのふるさと). Oh, and also in the entrance there is a Daruma almost 5 feet tall.

(For a bigger version of this picture both in color and black and white, check my "Japan Arekore" set on Flickr).
