It was one of the first things that made an impression in Japan because when I first came it was summer and I was seeing them everywhere: middle-aged and elderly Japanese women with these visors covering their whole face. And from the beginning I was stuck with "Darth Baachan" with "baachan" meaning "granny"; I didn't say it's particularly funny but after 12 years I can' think of them as anything else!
