(2060) A world of sugar

It isn't very well-known outside Japan but the art/craft (it's always hard to distinguish these things in Japan) called "amezaiku" (飴細工) is one of the most amazing I've seen. It's candy shaped and cut into animal forms while it's still warm  and in the end is colored; it;s one more legacy from the Edo period, here from the workshop-group "Ameshin"  (アメシン), in the eastern part of Asakusa, in Hanakawado (花川戸) near the river. Oh, they have a website too.
