(2056) Multicultural rabbits

I have written before about the Japanese's obsession with Miffy, the cute rabbit created by Dutch artist Dick Bruna in 1953: it fits so much to the Japanese idea of cute characters that it's worth wondering why she wasn't created here. A little while back, a Miffy merchandise and flower shop opened in Asakusa too and I thought I'd shoot some of the most Japanese among them. Like for example Miffy Daruma...

...Miffy kokeshi doll (in kimono, of course)...

...and these goshuincho (御朱印帳) notebooks which are used by pilgrims to collect stamps from the temples they visit. I think nobody would argue that this is the most unexpected among the three.
