As I have said many times (and not just me), convenience stores (or "konbini") in Japan have pretty much everything. This one, for example, had a rather extensive collection of vegetables...
...from which we picked a huge Chinese cabbage, a lettuce, a broccoli, three eggplants, three onions and a packet of shiitake mushrooms for 600 yen ($4,87).
