...or Benten (弁財天/弁天), one more of the seven gods of good fortune, patron of arts and music, also from Hase-dera temple in Kamakura. The funny part is that neither her or yesterday's Daikokuten are the primary (or the secondary or the tertiary) objects of worship of that temple: those would be the bodhisattva Kannon (観音) and Jizo (地蔵) and the Buddha Amida (阿弥陀) .
