Beside baths, the other reason people go to onsen is the food.
Usually dinner is in the classic Japanese style called kaiseki (懐石) consisting of several dishes coming one by one or being prepared on the spot
like these wonderful very thick and wide udon noodles;
served, of course by kimono-clad waitresses.
Breakfast on the other hand is usually a buffet mixing Western and Japanese food
like this freshly coal-grilled salmon.
