...because why not? Instant ramen are Japanese and so are Pokemon so the combination is 100% Japanese. Even more Japanese is the super-market's wish underneath: ganbare jukensei (かんばれ！受験生) i.e. "do your best students who are testing!" since this is the period that high school seniors are taking their unviersity exams and when you pull all-nighters studying, instant ramen are bound to be in the vicinity. In the same motif is Daruma with the "gokaku" (合格) inscription that means "passing an exam".
