...its deity, Mizukake Fudoson (水かけ不動尊) where "Fudoson" is the name of the deity and "mizukake" means "throwing water on something": the local legend says that if you pour water on him, your prayer will be heard so everybody does he has been completely covered by moss. (Some day I will go again in daytime and take a better picture.)
