Despite what is said about Osaka and its relationship with food, the first thing you see welcoming you at the Shin-Osaka (新大阪) station, where the shinkansen stops is the puppet theater Bunraku (文楽) which started here in the 17th century and has a history that runs parallel to that of Kabuki.
