Perhaps one of Kyoto’s most famous spots: Fushimi Inari Taisha (伏見稲荷大社) is the biggest shrine to Inari, the deity of rice and the center of the particular deity’s cult in Japan. It covers a medium sized mountain and its most prominent characteristic is the thousands of red torii gates dedicated by believers all year-round.
