...to yesterday's question: the scary gentleman from yesterday is one of the many scarecrows (literally: they are supposed to scare crows) that you can buy at the next isle. The best is the owl in the upper right corner which has batteries so it can move its head left and right, open and close its eyes and hoots --how that will stop crows who as we all know (?) are very clever, is a different discussion.

...στο χτεσινό ερώτημα: ο τρομακτικός κύριος από εχθές είναι ένα από τα πολλά σκιάχτρα (κυρίως για κοράκια) που μπορεί να αγοράσει κανείς στον διπλανό διάδρομο. Το καλύτερο είναι η κουκουβάγια πάνω δεξιά η οποία έχει μπαταρίες ώστε να κουνάει το κεφάλι της δεξιά και αριστερά και να φωνάζει --πόσο αυτό θα εμποδίσει τα κοράκια τα οποία ως γνωστόν (;) είναι πανέξυπνα, είναι μια άλλη συζήτηση.

I am not sure that the particular gentleman is the best possible presentation for lawn mowers. Unless you are going for the splatter version.

Everyone contributes, even Doraemon, the robot-cat that remains popular even though it is now 56 years old. Here wearing a festival hanten coat and holding an uchiwa fan he is watching happily the fireworks (their season is near) and advertising Suntory's bottled tea.

Συμμετέχουν όλοι, ακόμα και ο Ντοραεμόν, η γάτα-ρομπότ που παραμένει δημοφιλής παρότι είναι πλέον 56 ετών. Εδώ με πανηγυριτζήδικο σακάκι χαντέν, βεντάλια ούτσιουα παρακολουθεί χαρούμενος πυροτεχνήματα (πλησιάζει η εποχή τους) και διαφημίζει το εμφιαλωμένο τσάι της Suntory.

Sometimes I forget how many people are living in Japan. And then something like that comes and reminds me --somewhere in Kanagawa.

Μερικές φορές ξεχνάω πόσος κόσμος ζει στην Ιαπωνία. Και τότε έρχεται κάτι τέτοιο και μου το θυμίζει --κάπου στην Καναγκάουα.

Children (that often ride the trains alone, starting from first grade) cannot always read the signs that warn about the gap between the train and the platform. This is why some operators are using these signs made to draw the children's attention and written in a language they can understand.
