From the entrance to the spot where the monkeys are, the distance is 1,6 kilometer/1 mile. The problem is that the road was frozen and quite slippery snow so it took us about 40 minutes to walk it. In the picture what was to our left: not particularly high for a climb (about 850 meters/2788 feet) but tall enough for a drop.
