I don’t believe that all these times in Kamakura I hadn’t tried the menchi-katsu (メンチかつ) i.e. deep fried ground meat cutlets of the Ishikawa meat store. Less impressive than the Great Buddha but equally famous to locals; if you try them you can understand why.
